I do not hate them; I hate the way that the JW organization sucks its members' minds and hearts away. I wish it ever-lasting destruction. I rebuke it, reprimand it, disabuse it, disallow it, dislike it, detest it. I hate what they do to each other and to themselves as individuals and as an organization; I do not hate them. I hate their activities as representatives of a mind-control organization. I feel deeply, profoundly enraged by the devastation and emptiness that the exploitive Watchtower Bible And Tract Society has caused me and my loved ones. It is a hateful, greedy, damaging organization, mostly run by brainwashed and brainwashing people who desperately need purpose and who lack love and fulfillment, and who are filled with fear, shame and self-loathing that they project onto all outsiders. How can I hate them? They are the walking wounded, trying to save others because it hurts too much to look into the void of their own lives.

Voting today
by Junction-Guy inwell election day this year seemed to have a heavy turnout.
they had new voting machines and the process seemed to take much longer than usual.
the language in many of these issues seems so obscure, you would think they would put ballot language in the common mans terms, instead of alot of legalese.

Good for you, Dave! I voted, too, although I am not as enthused about voting as I used to be, when it was a novel sort of thing. I've been doing it ever since I was old enough to vote because I left the JWs before that. It really scandalized my JW family when I went around campaigning for a Congressional candidate years ago. They're such bizarre people, the JWs, for not voting. People died for the right to vote. Maybe we don't have that many choices, but given the opportunity to choose even the lesser of two evils, wise people vote. I don't think the JWs have taken the wise or the free path. It is a very oppressive organization that tries to prevent its members even from political participation in a democracy. I'm glad to be free of that, too, Dave; glad you're free of it too, even if you are a Republican.

Do you think Pastors/Ministers should be "sued" for causing distress?
by booker-t indo you think that a church pastor/minister should be held "liable" for distress they cause a church member?
if a pastor knowingly "harasses" a church member for money(tithes), for more church service time, or harassing a member with "when are you coming back to church?
" phone calls to the point of the church member having a "nervous breakdown" should pay damages to that member's family.

Only if your lawyer is absolutely certain of winning and won't ask for a retainer or payment of any sort until he wins the case for you. I think, for the trouble involved in pursuing such a suit, there would have to be a sizable financial gain possible. Such suits are extremely time-consuming and expensive.

Letters to the Editor
by AK - Jeff inseems as though this latest court ruling in california is huge in it's implications.
could we, as good citizens make it even more so by participating on the local slate?.
those with suburb writing skills might want to use this pallet to aid those less capable.

I sent out a couple of online letters to the editors last night. And this morning, added to a discussion thread about locally registered pedophiles, that they may be hanging out at your local KHs of JWs whose policies, blah, blah. Here's the link to the local paper's online forum where I posted: http://forums.starnewsonline.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1661088265/m/1271028575/p/2 I said, in response to a thread urging us to find out where the registered sex offenders are living: "Some of these pedophiles may be hanging out at the local Kingdom Halls of Jehovah's Witnesses, whose policies about reporting sex abuse make the organization a safe haven for such abusers, (who always find convenient blame-the-victim excuses). According to silentlambs.org, the JWs have a database of at least 20,000 members whose sexual offenses may never have been reported to the authorities, but kept secret and recorded by the JW elders of individual congregations around the country. This week a California court ruled in favor of sex abuse victims, against the Jehovah's Witnesses. The current California ruling against the Jehovah's Witnesses basically says the organization can no longer hide behind the "claim "clergy penitent privilege" with information that would lead to the possible conviction or implication of further crimes against children by Jehovah’s Witness child molesters. The secondary issue regards civil damages . . . due to negligence of church officials in not reporting allegations of child abuse putting additional children in danger,"(quote from SilentLambs.org). Please feel free to copy and paste this info where ever it is appropriate to do so."

here's my letter to the editor: Dear Editor: I am writing regarding a recent court case that found in favor of sex abuse survivors against the organization of the Jehovah's Witnesses. Please post this at your editorial page: If you or anyone you know has been the victim of pedophilia within the organization known as the Jehovah's Witnesses (run by the publishing corporation, Watchtower Bible And Tract Society), or has been victimized by a cover-up of pedophilia within this organization of Jehovah's Witnesses, please contact attorney Kimberlee Norris of Love-Norris, at her email address: [email protected] For details concerning the Jehovah's Witnesses' "two witness policy" and for information concerning the Silent Lambs' discussions of the Jehovah's Witnesses' pedophile database, please visit: silentlambs.org The current California case against the Jehovah's Witnesses simply says the organization can no longer hide behind the "claim "clergy penitent privilege" with information that would lead to the possible conviction or implication of further crimes against children by Jehovah’s Witness child molesters. The secondary issue regards civil damages . . . due to negligence of church officials in not reporting allegations of child abuse putting additional children in danger,"(quote from SilentLambs.org). Sincerely,

Perhaps someday, I will read this entire thread, but my back pain won't allow me to read it all at once. Thanks for pointing me to it, Zev; and thanks to all who have worked to get this info out. I wish I knew my JW relatives' email addies! Wonder if they got the snail mails on the topic? I'll probably never know. They cannot even admit to themselves they've been duped (by a publishing house that claims to be of god), much less admit it to me. Like I said, I'll probably never know, but I suppose there is hope that someday someone will break free of the chains of this hypocritical harlot of an organization. Has anyone put together a book about this UN scandal?

How was the U.N. Scandal discovered/leaked and by whom?
by Madame Quixote ini know it's true, just wondering how it came out.
did an insider leak it or was it discovered by one of us "apostates" or did someone else have an axe to grind?
i'd like to present it to people who are still jws, but not without knowing some background on who/why/how it was found out.

How can disfellowshipped effectively reach family with JW facts?
by Madame Quixote inare there any d'f'ed people out there who have been able to reach their families effectively with info about the jws on issues such as un membership, ajwrb, etc.?
how could you get them to actually read or research the mails (if you sent them the info).
i thought about creating a fake apologist newsletter that pretends to prepare them for "challenges and objections", but i don't know where to start exactly.
